Scents can evoke a myriad of memories and one sniff of cinnamon, pinecones and cloves can soon bring Christmas to mind. There are many ways in which you can bring the scents of the festive season into your home and have you feeling warm and Christmassy in no time. In this article, we explore 5 ways to get you in the mood for Christmas – just by aroma alone.

  1. Pinecones

Pinecones provide that wonderful scent of nature and Christmas combined – even lovelier when they are still growing on the real Christmas tree or adorning wreaths and fireplace garlands. You can kick things up a notch by adding a few drops of essential oils to pinecones too for a truly Christmassy aroma. Have a fun family walk to gather pinecones and give them a check for bugs and creepy crawlies before bringing them into your home. Bake the pinecones in the oven before adding some Christmas scented essential oils and placing in bowls around the home or adding to homemade garlands and wreaths. Here’s an easy to follow tutorial from The Spruce Crafts to get you started.
